Dr.Lee Boon Hua
Dr. Lee Boon Hua is currently the Head of the Department of Language and Literature, Curriculum Development Division, Ministry of Education Malaysia. He taught English to students in Forms 3, 4 and 5 from 1978 to 1986 in Kelantan. He also served as a State English Key Personnel and Editor of the state English Language newsletter (ELCOM).

In 1986, he was appointed as a TESL lecturer in the Kota Bharu Teacher Training College. In 1990, he moved to the Specialist Teachers' Training Institute, Kuala Lumpur, after a 2-year study leave to obtain a Master's Degree in TESL from University of Malaya. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Applied Linguistics from RELC.

He obtained his doctorate from University of Exeter, United Kingdom, in 1999. From May 2001 to Jan 2003, he served as the Principal of the Methodist Secondary School in Sitiawan, Perak. His last posting before he took up his present post was as the head of the Language & Technology Department in the English Language Teaching Centre, Kuala Lumpur. His current research interests include teacher thinking, language curriculum development and implementation, early literacy and ICT in the language classroom.


Dr. Yap Ngee Thai
Dr. Yap Ngee Thai has a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Delaware, USA. She also has a Masters Degree in Education from University Malaya with a specialization in the teaching of English as a second language and a Bachelor’s Degree from University Sains Malaysia.

While pursuing her doctorate at the University of Delaware, she was also engaged as an instructor, for phonology for the undergraduate level to students pursuing a major in speech pathology or a minor in linguistics. She is currently a lecturer at Universiti Putra Malaysia and her field of expertise includes phonetics and phonology, computer modeling and language learning strategies.


Ms.Yeo Pei Li
Ms. Yeo Pei Li has a Master of Counseling from University Malaya,Post-Graduate Diploma in Satir's Systemic Brief Theraphy (Canada) and Bachelor in Social Administration (University of Malaya).

Ms. Yeo has also been working with children and youth since 1992. She is a registered and licensed counselor with the National Counseling Board and is currently practicing at HELP University College. She not only provides face-to-face counseling, she also supports her clients via online. She specializes in family counseling, career counseling, and psychometric testing.

Besides counseling, she lectures, gives talks and conducts workshops to a wide spectrum of society, i.e. from school children to corporate staff. Topics she has trained or lecture include Personal Development Series such as self-discovery, leadership, time management, para-counseling skills, sex education, career planning, resume and interviewing skills.


Sheila Christine Devaraj
Sheila Christine Devaraj holds an Honours Degree and double major in Chemistry and Biology from Universiti Sains Malaysia. She has 26 years of teaching experience in secondary schools and is currently attached to S.M. Tenku Ampuan Jemaah, Pelabuhan Kelang.

Sheila was involved in the YWCA of Klang from 1994-1999 and setting up of Pusat Kasih Sayang, a home for intellectually impaired women and Rumah Perlindungan Sosial for women and children in crisis. She received her Distance Learning Diploma from the Hornsby Dyslexic Centre, London in 2001. She was officially awarded a scholarship from the Ministry of Education of Malaysia for Master of Science degree in University Putra Malaysia, Selangor.

Sheila is a life member and at present the Honorary Secretary of the Association of Dyslexia, Federal Territory. She is actively involved in workshops, talks and meetings with parents and children with Dyslexia.


Susanna Clare Philips
Susanna Clare Philips is a lecturer in the department of Special Education at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Malaysia, a consultant and a visiting lecturer with the National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM).

She has more than seventeen years of experience in training teachers in the area of Special Education. Susanna specializes in the area of Remedial Education, Learning Disabilities and in providing early intervention in children with Autism. She has acquired hands on experience in working with children in special needs as a special education teacher for sixteen years. Susanna holds a Master in Special Education from Monash University, Australia.

Train students to apply appropriate counselling skills in different situations


Advanced Diploma in Psychology

Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Counselling)

Graduates following Advanced Diploma in Counselling qualification will be granted advanced standing, equivalent to 12 Modules of the Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Counselling) from ACAP.
